Not everyone knows what a tonneau cover is, so here is the definition of a tonneau cover .

Tonneau is an older term for an open rear passenger compartment on an automobile (and now a truck bed) and, by extension, a body style incorporating such a compartment.
Now, it means the open area in the back of a pick-up truck bed. It keeps the elements out of the truck bed and also provides protection against someone getting into your items you store in the back of the truck.
Most tonneaus are fixed in place as an optional aftermarket truck accessory.
The term tonneau cover is mostly used for a hard or soft truck bed cover that encloses the storage area of a pick-up truck bed. The term tonneau cover seems to be almost synonymous with truck bed cover.
